His in-depth experience in the field of plastic surgery is an integral part of Mr.Bialostocki’s skill as a surgeon today, though an absolute talent for the procedures he performs has gained him a reputation as a highly respected plastic surgeon. Although his practice encompasses all areas of plastic surgery, his main emphasis is breast surgery (including breast augmentation, breast lift, breast reduction & breast reconstruction), body contouring (including liposuction & abdominoplasty) as well as facial rejuvenation (facelifts, mid-face lifts, neck lifts, eyelid surgery, browlifts, rhinoplasty). The emerging field of body contouring after massive-weight loss is a fascinating new sub-area, & Mr. Bialostocki keeps up-to-date with the leading techniques. He also performs a large amount of skin cancer surgery, hand surgery, gynaecomastia correction & ACC scar revision surgery. He has developed a special interest in lipomodelling, the use of micro-fat grafts for cosmetic & reconstructive use.
Mr. Bialostocki is a member of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, an invitation-only society of International Plastic Surgeons, & the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, which is a professional association devoted to maintenance of excellent ethical & professional standards within the field. Additionally, he is on the executive of the New Zealand Association of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeons (NZAPS) & he is a Trustee for the Plastic Surgery Research Foundation of New Zealand. Lastly, but by no means least, he is a member of the NZ Foundation for Cosmetic Plastic Surgery.
Mr. Bialostocki has an appointment at Tauranga Hospital as the visiting Plastic Surgery Consultant while also a member of the Plastic Surgery department at Waikato Public Hospital in Hamilton. He is involved in teaching plastic surgery trainee registrars and he has been the Advanced Surgical Training Supervisor in Plastic Surgery for the Waikato Region, & until recently, was on the committee responsible for selecting prospective plastic surgeon trainees for future training. Mr. Bialostocki regularly presents to local general practitioners on plastic surgery topics & is also asked to give lectures to general practice registrars & nursing groups throughout the region. He updates his education with regular attendances at national & international conferences & workshops, also giving lectures at meetings.
Mr. Bialostocki moved to the Waikato Region in January 2003 and then to the Bay of Plenty in December 2007. He is a graduate of Otago Medical School (1993) & has since worked in Wellington, Lower Hutt, Auckland, Waikato & Middlemore Hospitals in a variety of different surgical specialties. He was trained in the New Zealand Plastic Surgery training program at Middlemore Hospital in South Auckland & Hutt Hospital in Lower Hutt. After being awarded his Fellowship in Plastic Surgery, he further honed his knowledge with extended visits to some of the most prominent plastic surgeons in Australia and Europe. Now a resident of the Bay of Plenty, after hours, he enjoys windsurfing, mountain biking & spending time with his young family.

Catherine Bialostocki

Plastic Surgical Assistant to Mr Bialostocki; General Practitioner & Managing Director of Bay Plastic Surgery
Catherine has been the surgical assistant to Mr Bialsotocki for all major cases at Grace Private Hospital and Rotorua Public Hospital for many years. Familiar with all aspects of his surgery and being a New Zealand trained GP herself, she takes great care to answer all email enquiries promptly and correctly. As Managing Director, she works closely with Suzanne on the running of the clinic. Catherine is passionate about women feeling good about themselves and with a background in appearance medicine, loves her involvement in micro-pigmentation following nipple reconstruction. Keen mountain bikers, Catherine and Adam are also busy raising their young family.

Freya du Plessis
Plastic Surgery Practice Nurse, Nurse Injector
Registered nurse, Freya, has a comprehensive background in nursing with extensive experience in primary healthcare, accident and emergency, and surgical nursing. Freya is highly skilled as a plastic surgery nurse, including micro-pigmentation, tissue expansion and performing punch biopsies. Friendly and outgoing, Freya provides a high standard of professional care at Bay Plastic Surgery, where she assists Mr Bialostocki with minor surgery, pre and post operative patient reviews, telephone enquiries and organizing clinic and operating lists. She enjoys mountain-biking and outdoor activities, social gatherings with friends and families. In amongst this, she is raising a young family.

Justin Imrie
Dr Justin Imrie MBChB FANZCA
Dr Justin Imrie is the primary specialist anaesthetist for Bay Plastic Surgery.
He graduated from Auckland Medical School in 1991 and obtained his Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists in 2003. Most of his anaesthesia training was in Wellington Hospital, but he also completed an extra year of plastic surgery anaesthesia at Hutt Hospital. Other subspecialty interests include paediatric and vascular anaesthesia.

Dr Imrie has been employed as a consultant anaesthetist at Tauranga Public Hospital since 2003. He has always been involved in teaching and for two years held the title of Supervisor of Training for the Tauranga anaesthetic registrars. Dr Imrie relinquished this position to become Head of the Bay of Plenty Anaesthetic Department, which he also held for two years. In addition to performing the necessary duties as an anaesthetist in the operating theatres, he also participates in specialist cover of the Tauranga Public Hospital Intensive Care Unit.
Since 2006 Dr Imrie has also been involved in private practice at Grace Hospital, with his focus being primarily on plastic, orthopedic, vascular and general surgery. His goals as an anaesthetist are to provide safety and quality of care. Preoperative assessment, planning and consent are vital parts of this - as such he aims to see most prospective patients in his rooms at Grace Hospital before their operation date.

In her role of coordinating management, administration, nursing and patients, Suzanne says she feels privileged to work for Tauranga’s only resident plastic surgeon. She oversees the running of the clinic to the highest of standards and is delighted to be part of the team that provides a professional and discreet service to the community. An integral member of the team, Suzanne is crucial to the smooth running of the business and is immensely dedicated to the well being and comfort of both patients and other staff members. With a keen business brain, style and warmth, she personifies what it is the clinic strives to achieve. Suzanne’s charities of passion are the Waipuna Hospice where she helps with the bi-annual fund raising calendar and the Tauranga Wine and Food Festival. Nicole Smythe
Plastic Surgery Practice Nurse
Having spent a number of years living in the UK, registered nurse Nicole Smythe developed a keen interest in the field of plastic surgery while working with plastic surgeons in a private hospital in England. She has a wealth of experience, having worked for 16 years in general surgical, primary health care and high dependency surgical nursing. Nicole has also worked in surgical day units and assisted with minor operations, meaning her skills are well utilised at Bay Plastic Surgery. Compassionate and caring, Nicole has a lovely manner with patients. She is a keen follower of fashion, enjoys surfing, wakeboarding and spending quality time with friends and family.

Christine Gaskell
Specialist Plastic Surgery Theatre Nurse
Another invaluable member of our team, Christine Gaskill, moves between the Bay Plastic Surgery clinic and Grace Private Hospital, so depending on what procedure you have had, you may see her in both premises. Her warm and friendly manner makes Christine a popular nurse and teamed with her invaluable experience, she brings another dimension to our valuable team. As a regsitered nurse, Christine has over 20 years of theatre nursing experience, three of which she spent abroad in London's Harley Street Clinic and Harefield Hospital. Christine is a senior theatre nurse at Tauranga's Grace Private Hospital, applying skills and knowledge in specialties including plastic and cosmetic surgery with Mr Bialostocki. She is also involved in general, gynaecology, some ENT and orthopaedic procedures. When she is at Bay Plastic Surgery, she assists Mr Bialostocki with surgery performed under local anaesthetic, pre and post operative reviews. Christine thrives on outdoor activities, many of which she shares with her three young sons on their Bay of Plenty lifestyle block.
