Also a member of the Plastic Surgery department at Waikato Public Hospital in Hamilton, he is involved in teaching Plastic Surgery trainees. He has been the Advanced Surgical Training Supervisor in Plastic Surgery for the Waikato Region, & until recently, was on the committee responsible for selecting prospective Plastic Surgeon Trainees for future training. Mr. Bialostocki regularly presents to local General Practitioners on Plastic Surgery topics, & is also asked to give lectures to General Practice Registrars, & Nursing groups throughout the region. He updates his education with regular attendances at national & international conferences & workshops, also giving lectures at meetings.
Mr. Bialostocki moved to the Waikato Region in January 2003 and then to the Bay of Plenty in December 2007. He is a graduate of Otago Medical School in 1993 & since then has worked in Wellington, Lower Hutt, Auckland, Waikato & Middlemore Hospitals in a variety of different surgical specialties. He was trained in the New Zealand Plastic Surgery training program at Middlemore Hospital in South Auckland & Hutt Hospital in Lower Hutt. After being awarded his Fellowship in Plastic Surgery, he further honed his knowledge with visits to some of the most prominent Plastic Surgeons in Australia and Europe. Now a resident of the Bay of Plenty, after hours, he enjoys Windsurfing, cycling & spending time with his young family.
In Tauranga, he consults & does minor procedures at Bay Plastic Surgery, and also operates at the new Grace Hospital.
Dr Imrie has been employed as a Consultant anaesthetist at Tauranga Public Hospital since 2003. He has always been involved in teaching, and for two years he held the title of Supervisor of Training for the Tauranga anaesthetic registrars. Dr Imrie relinquished this position to become Head of the Bay of Plenty Anaesthetic Department, which he also held for two years. In addition to performing the necessary duties as an anaesthetist in the operating theatres, he also participates in specialist cover of the Tauranga Public Hospital Intensive Care Unit.
Since 2006 Dr Imrie has also been involved in private practice at Grace Hospital, with his focus being primarily on plastic, orthopedic, vascular and general surgery. His goals as an anaesthetist are to provide safety and quality of care. Preoperative assessment, planning and consent are vital parts of this - as such he aims to see most prospective patients in his rooms at Grace Hospital before their operation date.
“I consider it a privilege to work with skilled surgeons, such as Adam Bialostocki, in a centre of clinical excellence, within the beautiful Bay of Plenty. If you have any anaesthetic issues that you wish to discuss then please do not hesitate to contact me.”
